Pilot Don West and Dr. Zachary Smith complete the crew headed for Alpha Prime, the only inhabitable planet in the galaxy. Dr. Smith sabotages the ship, and they are sent off course. Now they are lost in space.
Priest: Seductive tirade in reference to a guy of the fabric who finds himself snared between holy promises and his own personal beliefs, specifically his closeted homosexuality. Deft mix of melodrama and tract that manages to handle homosexuality, neglect, incest, and the affairs of state of the Temple with incisive outcomes-and even a shady funny bone. The movie is written by Jimmy McGovern. Cast includes Linus Roache, Tom Wilkinson, Cathy Tyson, Robert Carlyle, and James Ellis. (97 minutes, 1994)
An act of Murder: An Act of Murder is a riveting drama where a man must decide how to deal with his wife’s painful and terminal illness. Does he kill her, and put her out of her misery? Starring in this movie are Fredric March, Florence Eldridge, Edmond O’Brien, and Geraldine Brooks. (1948 Drama with Michael Gordon directing)
Reckless: Disobedient adolescent from incorrect side of tracks takes up with un-crooked-arrow college girl, who finds in him a sense of jeopardy and enthusiasm missing from her content presence. Nothing here we haven’t seen in 1950s films in regards to disassociated youth-with the exception of some extremely modern day sex scenes chills and giggles don’t add up to much. Not for the faint-hearted. Cast includes Aidan Quinn, Daryl Hannah, Kenneth McMillan, Lois Smith, Adam Baldwin, Dan Hedaya, and Jennifer Grey. (90 minutes, 1984)
Navy Seals: Navy Seals go into the Mid-East to rescue captured US pilots. During this successful rescue, the Seals observe that the enemy terrorist have Stinger missiles in their possession. With not time to destroy the missiles, they leave them behind and complete the rescue mission. We need to recover these weapons before terrorists have the chance to use them.
The Great Gildersleeve: First of succession based on renowned stereo personality Throckmorton P. Gildersleeve is reasonably entertaining hogwash, as Gildy enters local affairs of state and stays away from spinster Territory. Cast includes Harold Peary, Nancy Bars, Freddie Mercer, Mary Territory, Jane Darwell, and Thurston Chamber. (62 minutes, 1943)
