Goodfellas: This movie tells the story of Henry Hill, an Irish-Italian American who grew up around the mafia, becoming involved early on. This movie is based on his true story. His own plight takes him from small time crook, all the way to cocaine dealer and heavy user.
Jupiter’s Wife: Gripping documentary in regards to a middle-aged destitute female whom filmmaker Negroponte chanced to confront in NY’s Medial Parle She claims to have ESP and be the spouse of the lord Jupiter and baby girl of the late performer Robert Ryan! Negroponte delves into her past and finds relatively a few astonishments in this incredibly moving picture of a shattered life. (78 minutes, 1994)

Strange Invaders: Caring spoof of ‘ 50s sci-fi films with a feel of ’80s New Wave, in reference to a Midwestern town overtaken by foreigners. Has a remarkable feel to it although agonizes from weak inscribing and lazy pacing. Here is an evocative score by John Addison. Cast includes Paul LeMat, Nancy Allen, Diana Scarwid, Michael Lerner, Louise Fletcher, and June Lockhart. (94 minutes, 1983)
South Central: Awakening, well-meaning story of life and desperation in central-city L.A. is alike in topic to (however not almost as powerful as) Boyz in the Hood.
